We love to get together with family and friends and we are so grateful for the family and friends we have made here in New Hampshire. Leaving Utah was so hard, we had spent a huge chunk of our lives there. In fact Saratoga Springs is the only home our kids remember and know of. This dinner meant so much to me and it happened on such a whim.
Our friends here who live up on Darling Hill are some of the best people I or anyone will ever know. As we came into the home the owners made me and my children feel right at home. Another family joined us and it was so great to get to know them better. The girls helped in the kitchen to get dinner ready while kids played upstairs and the men talked. So many conversations going on and laughter. As I paused for a moment and looked around the room and I felt like I was at home. Home, back in Utah with my family who are so fun to be around and joke around with. I felt warm, comfy and calm.
I hope you can see the raw beauty in these pictures. This meal was homemade and so natural. No fancy dishes or big table displays just a warm delicious cooked meal with warm friendly people. I love this last picture with Dave hanging out, Sybie at the table with her doll, singing and sipping her drink, and our friends hanging out in the back. I think Heavenly Father knew I needed this, it made me so happy and I am grateful for these sweet people.
I encourage everyone to invite friends, family, and neighbors to dinner. Get to know each other and have a great time. Dinner doesn’t have to be fancy. You can use paper plates and have oven cooked pizza. Invite someone new and get know the people around you, maybe even play a game or two. You won’t regret it!
