Plant based

For the new year we have decided to go plant based. Which means no animal products, except cheese for the kids…..cause they will die if they don’t have cheese (rolling my eyes). We did this about 5 years ago along with juicing. It all started with my husband Dave wanting to watch a new documentary on juicing which is called Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. If you haven’t seen it I highly recommend watching. It changed my life! I was 180lbs, 50lbs heavier then I was before having kids. I was unhappy, tired and sad. So we went for it and did the 10 day challenge of juicing for 10 days straight. I lost 2 lbs a day while doing this and running for 30 minutes a day. After the 10 days I decided to juice for breakfast and lunch and eat plant based dinner meals. I would have a snack between meals like an apple or some carrots and always made sure I had my protein in my juices. I lost 45lbs in the next 3 months. Insane and crazy I know but I did and I felt great! I kept the weight off by eating plant based and exercising for a year. My doctor was so impressed with my health. Then I got pregnant with our daughter and was thrilled….and mad at the same time, mad and worried I was going to gain all the weight back.   After nine hard months with gestational diabetes I gave birth to a healthy baby girl who weighed 10lbs and had beautiful red hair.  I had sadly gained all the weight back. I gave myself a “minute” which means I gave myself and my body time to heal, breastfeed and let my body do its thing, but now I am ready to lose that weight and then some.
